Briarwood Golf Club
Briarwood Golf Club was built by Bill & Eleanor and Ken & Jane Leatherman. It opened for play in July, 1963. The course was named Briarwood because of the numerous briar trees found on the land. In 1978 Bill & Eleanor’s son’s, Bill Jr., Mike and Jeff, took ownership of the course. An additional 75 acres was purchased and a new West Nine was opened in 1990. The course is still owned by the Leatherman family and today is managed by Mike and Jeff.
With 27 holes winding through wooded areas, over hills and water, the course offers both beauty and challenge. Depending on which combination of nine's and which tees are selected, the course can play from as little as 5200 yards to over 6500 yards.
